What will happen if I try to upgrade a used computer to windows xp sp3?

I recently purchased a used computer that had been wiped clean by a reburbishing shop on ebay. The copy of Windows XP in it is not the original COA. Now it wants to install all the missing updates; about 20 plus SP3 I’m nervous it will find something invalid. What will happen? Thanks

Chances are if it even allowed you the option of installing SP3 you have already passed Windows Genuine Advantage Validation. Whew that’s a mouthful. If you install it your machine will probably be okay. I have had mixed experience with the "performance boost" that some people say comes as a result of this Service Pack. 2 of my machines have a slower boot time but are more responsive on login and the other one didn’t seem to change.
The benefit of having a fully patched OS should far exceed the fear that your computer might require you to purchase a license for illegitmate software. If you have the option to install, go for it.
nothing if its not pirated then agen the pirated one work better then the retale one do
Well first you should check the bit range before you upgrade.
Please make sure all drivers and software are fully updated before installing SP3.
Also run system virus scan, defrag,do a disk cleanup via admin tools.
Make sure you download and install IE7 and not IE8 beta.

It will have XP sp3 on it. It should run just fine and sp3 will be great!
