REVIEW: Acer Aspire One [Original Model, November 2008]
Want to buy an Acer Aspire One? Check out Amazon.com: tinyurl.com [Affiliate] www.digitalhomethoughts.com This is my review of the Acer Aspire One, a netbook with some fairly typical specs a 1.6 Ghz Intel Atom CPU, 1 GB RAM, an 8.9 inch screen, a 120 GB hard drive, 802.11b/g, a 6 cell battery, and running Windows XP Home. Pricing varies – I paid around 9 for this, but Acer has changed the product slightly – they’re now shipping it with a 160 GB hard drive, and there are several version of the Aspire One on the market, including an entry-level unit with Linux. I shot this review over a month ago, so keep that in mind when I mention not having the MSI Wind yet.

@toolieliyah you coud use Windows Live Messenger, you can make video calls for free.
@ThoughtsMedia that’s not true, this model includes 2 SDHC slots, so you can install any software, movie, pc game using SD slots which now can store up to 16GB of space.
I have this too & like it, got rid of malware that got in to it, needed to reformat hd but could not use the erecovery because it said it was`nt it in the default setting…
BIG TIP!!!!
Press & keep tapping alt +F10 on start up
you don’t need any external drives….just press alt+f10 while booting….
Don’t ever buy an acer their warranty repair center in Texas will make crap up to get as much money from you as possible, I recently sent out my Aspire One for repairs and they told me that moisture residue was found and wanted money from me for repairs, when i never spilled anything on it case 1-677z71b
can you upload to you tube with it
lol im watching this vid on my acer aspire one saphire blue colored netbook
i’m glad i watch this video because i have been thinking if i should get the dell inspiron mini 10v, asus Eee 1005 ha, or the msi wind but i’ll just get the acer
i got this computer but i can with the 3 cell battrie and it dosnt half the multilengual key board
how much does it cost?
Acer fails.
@DeathDoomyVidz I’m not sure why you say that, Acer builds great Netbooks with an excelent price, these netbooks will get better hardware in the next months, you’ll be able to play Call of Duty 4 with Medium settings and stream HD video 1080p with the NVidia ION2 chipset, 4 years ago you needed an extreme CPU and a extreme GPU Cards which cost too much electricity but now time has changed.
I have an Acer but not a netbook. Mine dosen’t have the Canadian translations under the English keys and my fan isn’t loud. I got on it for 12 hours one time and it got a little warm but it still works.
@116lr Yes I did it with two videos that worked. Please look at them, they are Random People with Lightsabers and War Pigs music video which dosen’t have music due to copyright.
woah youre smart
@5505318 use a USB stick… the aspire boots from usb.
btw, it’s nice to have a long power cable.. duhh..
@rutgerjaap Maybe if you never travel with it…

I have a smaller battery that came with it and it doesn’t stick out from the rest of the computer. I like how it’s the same size of my hand
!!! In my opinion acer is the best and it can take a lot of damage and still work… yeah mine has dropped a lot. ^_^;
@ToastOfDOOMM I mean.. the laptop is the same size as my hand..
not the battery.
Oh and mine doesn’t have a multilingual keyboard… or whatever you said. D:
Or does the keyboards very from where you live? I live in the USA.
I just confused myself..
