Overheating Acer Laptop!!!

I found this old clip of my Acer TravelMate 2420 aka the bane of my existence for about a year. It gets to be 96C but its record is 100C. Enjoy the heat.

jesus, my CPU has NEVER been above 60C, because AMD cpu’s damage above 62.. but i have watercooling and a OC!
just playing halo you got to 96?! that’s crazy!
the hottest component ever in my computer was a old PSU, it made quite a light show, so NEVER play on a pc, during 48C days, without aircon..

Yes that thing was a piece of shit, Celeron processors suck haha and so does acer. Oh and so does Apple because my macbook gets to above 80C just with watching flash videos, and it has even gotten to 99C – i just got a used thinkpad t60p however and even with all my programs i use running (photoshop, outlook, word, powerpoint, excel, visual studio 2008, expression web, cisco VPN, firefox) it has never gone above 45C – lenovo/IBM for the win lol
ooh nice, my new laptop, well uh kinda new, got it sep last yr, has a dedicated GPU, Core 2 duo, 4gb ddr3 ram, and it’s temps stay around 45-56 during crysis.
lol on my laptop when it starts up it goes up 2 like 70-80c

Yes it is a PC.
Yeah it’s HP, really like that brand because i have 3 Pocket PC’s from HP, a Laptop, a Desktop and my first PC was from HP.

my friends hp dv6000 has been over 112 degrees celsius….^^ during counter strike main menu.
Lol. Travelmate is more like business, for gaming you should’ve gotten an Aspire.
laptops these days are supposed to auto shutdown at 70c~
my 5920g sits at 65c when normal use and 95c when playing wow (i use speedfan to moniter).
just rasie the back and slid a book or something under it to allow more airflow and make sure you clean the air vents periodically

My brother owns an old compaq, designed for Win 2000 (i think) and it shuts down automatically when it overheats.
And yet this thing doesn’t.

@joytech23 At 60 degrees celsius? Are you CRAZY? That’s a very normal temperature if it’s on load. If it gets above like 90 degrees Celsius, it is getting bad.
@FRURMELLL AMD CPU’s are normally damaged at their thermal maximum, which is 62C. It’s normal for Intel CPU’s.
Well i guess your right since the CPU doesn’t normally begin to show damage until you hit something like 85-90C.
@joytech23 haha yeah i have a celeron m in my acer aspire 3680, and just playin halo ive gotten it to about 130… it was actually sitting on a bed that blocked the air flow, but it still works.
haha i got my thinkpad t43 to 93C holy crap!
